Pakistan Educational Foundation
The grim picture of literacy and educational standards prevailing in the Country aroused the integrity and spirit of a few scholarly people.
These people upon seeing the general educational standards declining, got together and formed the "Pakistan Educational Foundation" (PEF). The formation of the Foundation is based with the following aims:
- To provide affordable quality education especially in those fields which are essential for the prosperity of a developing nation.
- To provide the facilities of general, technical and rofessional education to the people through standard institutions.
- To promote research activities and to bring out related publications.
- To provide advisory services to public and private sector enterprises.
- To provide free education to needy and brilliant students and also scholarships /stipends / financial aid to enable them to pursue their studies without hindrance.
- To improve morals and promote the sense of brotherhood among the people.
- To co-operate with other organizations having similar aims and objectives for coordinated efforts to achieve these objectives.
With these targets 'PEF' took up the task of establishing a research oriented ' Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology' (KIET) in 1997, providing quality education targeting at emerging markets.
After attaining its 'Charter', an agreement was signed between Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Educational Foundation to operate an institution at PAF Base Korangi Creek under the banner of 'PAF–KIET'.
In year 2000, 'PEF' took the responsibility for setting up of an 'Intermediate College' (for both boys and girls) in Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Commerce and Computer Science subjects.
